2023 Fleeces

Welcome to Harmony Marsh Farm! We have a small flock of Purebred Shetlands and a few Shetland x Gotlands. I primarily breed for fine fleeced Shetlands that will have soft and crimpy fleeces. All of the Fleeces are raw and have only been lightly skirted.

This is my first time publicly advertising fleeces and I’m new to the fibre arts world, so I will try my best to answer any questions you may have! Any shipping would be on the buyers expense.

The pictures of the fleece samples next to the tape measure were all taken from about mid side.

Fleece #1 - Benjamin, 3y old wether.

Breed: 75% Shetland x 25% Gotland.

Fleece Weight: 6.17 lbs.

Fleece Length: 5”

This is an absolutely stunning silky fleece with a soft rose grey colour. There’s very little VM or dirt in this fleece.

Fleece #2 - Almond, 2y old ewe

Breed: Pure Shetland.

Fleece Weight: 3.06 lbs.

Fleece Length: 3”- 4”

A dense crimpy white fleece, very little VM.

Fleece #3 - Cricket, 2y old ram.

Breed: Pure Shetland.

Fleece Weight: 2.82 lbs.

The tips are a bit dirty and it has some VM on the fleece, not much VM embedded in the fleece though. More than half of the fleece is white, with some black spots.

Fleece #4 - Pickles, 2y old wether.

Breed: 75% Shetland x 25% Gotland.

Fleece Weight: 6.79 lbs.

Fleece Length: 5”- 6”

The tips of this fleece are fairly dirty, some felting particularly in the neck wool. Otherwise a gorgeous silky shiny white fleece.

One of my favourite fleeces this year, my hands didn’t want to leave this fleece with how buttery soft it is. It has nice crimp and length to it.

Breed: 87.5% Shetland x 12.5% Gotland.

This fleece is the finest fleece I have available. Super crimpy and soft.

A soft fluffy fleece with a relaxed crimp.

There’s parts of this fleece that have felting, so it is discounted it may take some work picking through it. Otherwise beautiful light Gotland Grey fleece.

This fleece has quite a bit of VM in it, especially in the neck wool. It may be a bit of a project fleece. Medium soft
